Amethyst
Amethyst is the birthstone for February and is the most expensive member of the quartz family and is one of the few semi-precious stones in the British Crown Jewels. The finest examples I’ve seen are from Ametista, Uruguay, Congo and Namibia where specimens display a distinctive rich hue.
